London’s Air Ambulance Charity uses face to face and telephone fundraising as a great way to raise awareness of our work out in the community. Each of our fundraising agencies are specialists in what they do and believe in our work.
Face-to-face fundraisers who represent London’s Air Ambulance Charity will:
- Have a photo ID badge
- Have a letter allowing them to collect Direct Debits on London’s Air Ambulance’s behalf
- Be wearing something with the London’s Air Ambulance logo on it

Face-to-face Fundraising Status: Active
Due to cancelled fundraising events and our Face-to-face Fundraising being suspended for over 50% of 2020 it is estimating that we will lose £5 million in income over the next two to three years due to Covid-19 restrictions, the equivalent of 2,440 missions and every one of those could save a life.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, London’s Air Ambulance Charity has supported the NHS and remained operational 24/7 for every one of the 10 million people who live, work and travel in London every day. It costs around £11 million each year to deliver the service; which is primarily funded by public donations (such as online donations and our supporters who sign up via Face-to-face Fundraising), providing London with an advanced trauma team 365 days a year.
In line with Government guidance, we resumed Face to Face fundraising on 12th April 2021.
All our fundraising activities are carried out in-line with the Code of Fundraising Practice and Government Guidance on coronavirus including working safely during coronavirus and the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, London’s Air Ambulance Charity has worked closely with our Face-to-face Fundraising Agencies to ensure all risk assessments, policies and training have consistently placed Fundraiser, Supporter, and the Public’s health as being of paramount importance, and we will continue to do so during all future Face-to-face Fundraising activities.
Where are our Face to Face Fundraisers?
London’s Air Ambulance Charity fundraisers work within the M25 area and conduct a mix of Door to Door and Private Site fundraising. A Private Site simply means the fundraising takes place in a supermarket, a shopping centre, a garden centre or similar.
Who are our face to face fundraisers?
Tower Engage People
Tower Lotteries are our longest-standing fundraising agency and are specialists in recruiting lottery players for air ambulances across the country. As well as working in hospitals and retail sites, some Tower employees work on a door-to-door basis across different areas of London.
By contrast, Wesser are our newest agency having joined the group in November 2018. They operate on a door-to-door basis and are Europe’s oldest fundraising agency, starting with the German Red Cross in 1968. They are working on our Regular Giving campaign and are based in Hillingdon, Enfield and Redbridge.
Gemini sit snugly between Wesser and Tower as to how long they have been working with London’s Air Ambulance Charity. Gemini fundraisers will be found exclusively in retail sites, so keep an eye out for them when you’re next doing your shopping.
Purity Fundraising are an agency specialising in telephone fundraising for the charity sector and based in Brighton. Purity fundraising have been working with London’s Air Ambulance Charity since June 2019 to provide quality calls on our Direct Response TV regular giving campaign and call supporters on our behalf to help us to provide the best supporter experience.
Frequently asked questions about our face to face fundraising
We carry out face to face fundraising in privates sites, such as shopping centres, and also have fundraisers who go door to door. We encourage people to become regular supporters either by playing our weekly lottery, or by signing up to a monthly donation.
These regular gifts are incredibly valuable to us as they provide sustainable and unrestricted income, which helps us plan and deliver the service we provide with a greater degree of confidence. Face to face fundraising is also a great way for us to raise awareness of our work out in the community.
We use telephone fundraising to communicate with existing supporters; we never make cold calls. We call supporters to thank them for their donation and to find out if they would like to continue to support our life-saving work with a regular donation.
Examples of our telephone fundraising campaigns are reaching out to people who supported with text donations following our Trauma Doctors TV documentary or contacting previous donors to give them the option of becoming regular supporters.

We work with Purity Fundraising, a telephone fundraising agency. Purity currently provide quality calls on behalf of London’s Air Ambulance Charity on our Direct Response TV regular giving campaign. Purity also carry out Welcome Calling on our behalf for new Lottery and Regular Giving Supporters

We also work with Wesser Fundraising, Tower Engage People and Gemini Fundraising, three specialist face to face agencies who help us carry out our fundraising. All our fundraisers carry photo ID. We have a copy of their photo along with the areas they cover, but you can also contact our office to confirm their identity.

Fundraising is a very difficult job, requiring lots of support, administration and training. Although we can support a small in-house team, in order to generate the level of support we need we have to look for external help.
Each of our agencies are specialists in what they do and believe in our work here at London’s Air Ambulance Charity, allowing us to focus on other aspects of the charity whilst they take care of some of our fundraising needs. We ensure that each agency is carefully trained and monitored so that they are the best possible ambassadors for us.
