My Story

On 18th March, 1995 - London's Air Ambulance; HEMS with Dr Gareth Davies and his team came to my rescue when I fell 15ft from a ladder whilst working on a Construction site in Elmers End, Beckenham. I was a young Site Manager going about some inspections when I slipped and fell head first from height. My safety helmet took the full impact, but I suffered a major head injury with fractured skull and total hearing lost in left ear, and some major bruising to neck and upper torso. Recovery to The Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel took less than 5 minutes where I received the best care I could have in the 'Golden hour' which saved my life 21 wonderful years ago! Today I am always looking to the skies in London when I hear a helicopter and often see them recovering patients similar to myself by air, or road with rapid response units into The Royal London Hospital. My family and I will be forever and always grateful, appreciative and humbled to Dr Davies and his team for saving my life and all the other patients lives they have saved during their dedicated years of service.
