"I decided to volunteer for London’s Air Ambulance to develop new skills and to give something back to the community," says student Rabeya Choudhury who most weeks can be found manning our hospital shop.

“I wanted to do something that was outside of my studies and volunteering for London’s Air Ambulance has allowed me to do something different while contributing to a very worthy cause”.

Rabeya started off volunteering in our Charity office getting involved initially in fundraising research, supporter correspondence and data entry. The research and computer skills she has developed have not only helped her with her degree course, they have also helped her progress onto managing our hospital shop. “I enjoy the responsibility of working in the shop plus you get the opportunity to work on your customer service skills. I have met lots of new people who I may not have met before and all the charity and hospital staff are friendly and welcoming. You really feel part of a team.”

Whether you have a little or a lot of time to offer we have volunteer opportunities across London that might suit you.
