Your chance to win an exclusive helicopter visit

We are offering pupils and teachers the chance to win a genuinely exclusive chance to see our iconic helicopter up close and personal, and meet our amazing pilots and medical crew.

The competition is completely voluntary – if you would rather not enter then that is absolutely fine and doesn’t stop your school from taking part in the main Create-a-Copter activity.

Winners will be chosen by an ‘expert’ panel consisting of our pilots, medics and fundraising team. The competition categories will be:

  • Our favourite copter creation Key Stage 1
  • Our favourite copter creation Key Stage 2
  • School with the highest fundraising total

There will also be special prizes for runners up in all categories.

The competition closes at 3pm on Friday 12 November.

For further information about the competition, please see our FAQ’s and Terms and Conditions section below.

Good luck!

FAQ's

How many Create-a-Copter designs can our school enter?

Each school can only enter one Create-a-Copter design per key stage eg one copter for KS1 and one copter for KS2. These will have to be entered individually via the entry form for each design.

How can we choose the Create-a-Copter to represent our school?

It is entirely up to your school how you choose the design to represent your school. Maybe you can hold a secret vote amongst pupils or enter everyone’s name into a lottery. If you are holding an exhibition event you could have visitors nominate their top three and rank the winner as the one with the most cumulative points.

Do we have to enter the competition?

No, the competition is completely voluntary to enter and doesn’t stop your school taking part in Create-a-Copter.

When can we register our nominated Create-a-Copter design?

As soon as you’re ready, and before the competition closes at 3pm on Friday 12 November. After that time and date we will be unable to accept any further entries.

How will you choose the winners?

We have assembled a judging panel of pilots, medical team representatives and charity staff to vote for their favourite designs. For the top fundraising school, this will be judged as the school with the highest fundraising total at 3pm on Friday 5th November. Any cash donations will need to be sent as a cheque to our head office by Friday 5th November. Any funds received after that will be gratefully received but cannot be counted towards competition entry.

When will we be notified if we have won?

We will be notifying winners on Wednesday 17 November, so make sure you check your emails!

We have lots of offline (cash and cheque) donations. How do we make sure these are counted towards our fundraising total?

The easiest and quickest way to pay in funds is via your online page. You can bank the cash you have received, then make a safe and secure donation onto your fundraising page. Alternatively, you will need to send a cheque to our head office at 5th Floor, 77 Mansell Street, London E1 8AN, with a covering letter. Remember: in order for fundraising to be counted towards the competition we have to receive your cheques by Friday 12 November 2021 at the very latest.

If we win how many people from our school can visit the helicopter and crew?

Because of the working environment of the helicopter and our team, we can only accommodate a maximum of 6 visitors, including the pupil responsible for the winning entry. We will need names and details of each person in your group before your visit. More details will be supplied to the winning schools.
