The Radisson Blu Portman Hotel, London has continued its support for our charity during a dedicated action month in September.  The hotel - part of the Rezidor Hotel Group with its leading Responsible Business programme - has successfully completed its 9th dedicated annual Responsible Business Action Month.  This initiative, which takes place every September, encourages team members to put in extra effort into activities that support the health, social wellbeing and environment of staff, guests and members of the local community.

The 2012 Responsible Business Action Month has provided a superb opportunity for the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel’s team members to further get behind our charity — the hotel announced earlier this year that it wanted to dedicate its fundraising efforts to London’s Air Ambulance in 2012 and beyond.  Team members had identified our service as a more than worthy cause and the decision was cemented once they had visited our helipad and received a briefing on the critical exploits of our service, and the fundraising challenges we face.

Throughout the year, the hotel’s Responsible Business team have planned fundraising events, culminating in a number of different activities during the action month of September.  Activities have included a 110 mile cycle from London to Southend, via Thurrock and Stansted, raising £1200 in the process.  Staff raffles, complimentary meeting rooms for our charity, staff members joining us for a volunteer fundraising event at Wembley Stadium that raised over £3000, and a staff pub quiz that raised over £100.  September’s fundraising activities ended colourfully on Friday 28th September, when all employees within the hotel were encouraged to participate in our Wear Red Day — to make a small donation and wear red or a badge in support of our charity.

I am very proud of the team’s efforts in supporting such a worthy cause.  We are privileged to have developed such a good working relationship with London’s Air Ambulance, a cause we genuinely believe in, and we look forward to raising even more money for them in the near future,” says Guido Bayley, General Manager of the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel.

Charity Director David Oakley, said:We are grateful to Radisson Blu and its staff for their generous support to date.  We are delighted to have been chosen as their charity partner and look forward to working alongside them in the future.”

Located in Portman Square, the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel is superbly positioned for business or leisure guests wanting to enjoy the best that London has to offer.  The hotel’s large meetings space, including ballroom for up to 700 people, remains a popular choice for meetings planners looking for a convenient and Central London location, combined with high service standards.
