fundraiser at stand

London’s Air Ambulance Charity uses face-to-face fundraising to raise awareness of its work across London. We recently spoke to Lisa, who fundraises on our behalf: Lisa shares why she chose to fundraise for us, what she likes most about it and some special moments from her time fundraising.

How long have you fundraised on behalf of London’s Air Ambulance Charity for?

I have been fundraising for just over a year.

What do you most like about fundraising?

I love talking to the public and raising awareness for the charity. Listening to patients’ stories is so moving – I feel very privileged when they share such emotional and personal stories with me.

What inspires you to fundraise?

When I hear the amazing work the team do and listen to the positive stories from the patients, it inspires me to educate and spread the word as much as possible.

Why did you choose to become a fundraiser?

I had worked in a busy office environment for over 20 years and upon deciding on a career change, I knew I wanted to do something that made a difference. I love talking to people and so when the opportunity came up to fundraise for the charity, I jumped at the chance.

Can you think of any special moments from your fundraising?

Over the past year, I was lucky enough to visit the helipad which was very impressive and informative. The special moments for me are when the public share their personal stories of either themselves or their loved ones having benefitted from the amazing work London’s Air Ambulance does.
