London's Air Ambulance Charity's helicopter on the helipad

Air Ambulance Week 2022 is taking off across the UK during 5-11 September to raise awareness of the life-saving work of UK air ambulance charities.

During the national awareness week organised by Air Ambulances UK, London's Air Ambulance Charity is joining other air ambulance charities around the UK in the 2022 campaign, Critical Moments – Lifesaving Difference.

The campaign highlights how air ambulance charities make a life-saving difference in critical moments. Air ambulance crews bring the skills and expertise of a hospital to the scene of an emergency, performing complex procedures using advanced equipment and drugs that improve survival rates.

An example of this critical work is demonstrated by our patient Joshua’s story, who we flew to when a severe accident occurred in his school playground. Please read his story this Air Ambulance Week to hear firsthand the difference air ambulances can make.

Last year, London’s Air Ambulance conducted over 1,700 missions across London, forming an important part of the emergency services in the capital.

The average cost of a London’s Air Ambulance mission is £2,290 and the service is funded almost entirely by the generosity of local communities.

If you’d like to get involved there are several ways in which you can support our work. This year’s activities include our Big City Collection, October’s Miles for Missions and the 2022 Royal Parks Half Marathon.

Donate today

Without the support of the community it would not be possible to continue our life-saving work. Your donation today could save the life of a loved one tomorrow.
