This May marks the end of London’s Air Ambulance Charity’s year-long partnership with the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Councillor Tom Bennett.
We're so grateful for the Mayor's advocacy, which has brought our life-saving mission into the borough and raised awareness and support for our unique team of doctors, paramedics, pilots and fire crew who deliver hope when it’s needed most.
The partnership was launched with the Mayor hosting a special event to recognise our volunteers. This celebration ensured those who give their time to the charity were truly seen and valued by the borough, establishing a collaboration that showed the Mayor standing alongside our team and supporters.
The Mayor became a visible champion throughout the year with unforgettable moments: he joined fellow councillors and volunteers during our Big City Collection, opened our abseil event by taking a bold step off our 17th floor helipad and hosted the moving Christmas Carol Service at St Mary Abbots Church in December 2025.
In one of his final acts as Mayor, earlier this year Tom ran the London Landmarks Half Marathon and he isn’t stopping there – he has committed to running the Royal Parks Half Marathon this October post-term, once again raising vital funds for London’s Air Ambulance Charity.
Jonathan Jenkins, our CEO, said: “London’s Air Ambulance is there for someone on their worst day, saving lives where others can’t. But we cannot do that without the support of London and its communities.
"We’re so grateful to Councillor Tom and everyone in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea for all their support and efforts throughout the partnership. Thanks to them, we’ll continue to be here for London, today, tomorrow, always."
We’d also like to thank the former Mayoress, Mrs Beatrice Gatti Bennett, for her unwavering support and presence at key events throughout the year-long partnership.
Through this partnership, we’ve raised more than £55,000 – funds that will directly help our team get to a patient’s side in time to make a difference.
Councillor Tom Bennett said "It has been a pleasure and an honour to work with London's Air Ambulance Charity this year, raising funds and awareness for this incredible service. I want to pass on my heartfelt thanks to everyone in the team who has supported me and made our fundraising efforts such a success. Though our mayoral year is coming to end, Beatrice and I look forward to continuing to work with them for many years to come."
Our vision is to bring hope to every patient across London when they need us most, where they need us most. If you're interested in helping us, don't hesitate to reach out to us on [email protected].
