After being treated by our team in October 2021, this month Oli organised a quiz night for London’s Air Ambulance Charity, with a BAFTA winning celebrity host.
Documentary maker and interviewer Louis Theroux asked an audience of 210 some quiz questions for the evening, with drinks and refreshments available throughout.
“It was really fun,” said Oli, “Louis was a brilliant host and everyone found him quite funny.”
Oli picked London’s Air Ambulance Charity to be the recipient of the funds raised from the night to say thanks for what happened to him in 2021.
“I was cycling home when I was involved in a head-on collision with a car that jumped a red light,” said Oli.
“I was never aware that the air ambulance was funded by donations and the scarcity of that resource. I’m glad I could give something back.”
Oli’s quiz night raised nearly £4,500, which is enough to fund over two missions, enabling our advanced trauma team to attend to more critically injured individuals in London. Thanks to Oli’s employer Runway East covering the cost of running the event, all proceeds were able to go to London’s Air Ambulance Charity.
“It was amazing to raise that amount of money,” said Oli. “It made my day when I realised I had helped to fund two more missions.”
