Following the success of our Up Against Time appeal, as our charity looks ahead to its future, we’ve launched a new organisational strategy.
Our new vision is to bring hope to every one of our patients across London, when they need us most, where they need us most, and our new mission is to use everything we know, our specialist skills and unmatched experience to save lives and ensure the best outcomes for our patients across London.
This strategy will take us to our 50th year of operation in 2039 and will see us continue to innovate and develop pre-hospital care, securing the best for every one of our patients and their families.
Our CEO, Jonathan Jenkins, said:
“As we look ahead, our commitment is stronger than ever. Our new strategy outlines how we will continue to pioneer trauma care, not just for London but for patients worldwide.
The people of this city came together to secure the future of our helicopter fleet – now, we ask for their continued support to ensure we remain at the forefront of saving lives and shaping global clinical practice.”
When patients in London suffer life-threatening traumatic injury, only our teams can provide them with the help they need, performing innovative medical procedures to save lives. Our new strategy has a focus on developing pre-hospital care – bringing more complex interventions to the roadside, so we can make a difference where others can’t.
Medical Director of London’s Air Ambulance Charity, Dr Tom Hurst, said: “Every patient we treat is facing one of the worst moments of their life. Our new vision places hope at the centre of our work – hope that our intervention will give each patient the best possible chance of survival and recovery. These latest figures reaffirm the need for our service and our responsibility to continuously innovate and improve outcomes for critically injured people in London.”
Our strategy outlines our ambitious aims for the next 15 years, from clinical innovations to vital investment, so that we can be there for the patient of tomorrow that we couldn’t save today.
Trauma doesn’t stop, but neither do we. Read our full strategy document for more details on how we will make sure we’re here for London, today, tomorrow, always.
