Infographic showing 159 patients were treated in February 2026

In February 2026, our crews – who are dispatched by one of our paramedics in the LAS emergency operation centre – treated 159 patients.

Penetrating impact was the most common mechanism of injury, resulting in 55 patients (35 per cent). Transport-related injuries resulted in 39 patients (25 per cent), falls 27 patients (17 per cent), medical-related injuries 19 (12 per cent) and blunt impact eight (five per cent). There were also 11 patients who had other or unknown injuries (seven per cent), which can include burns and industrial incidents.

To treat these patients on scene, our doctor and paramedic teams performed 29 rapid sequence intubations, 25 arterial lines, 21 blood transfusions, two thoracotomies (open chest surgery) and more potentially life-saving interventions. Some of these procedures only our teams can provide on scene in London.

In February, 40 patients were taken to The Royal London Hospital (35.1 per cent), 36 patients were taken to St Mary’s (31.6 per cent), 20 patients to King’s College (17.5 per cent) and 15 to St George’s (13.2 per cent). We did not fly anyone to hospital, as this isn’t our main role on scene.

We’re here to serve all of London, 24/7, 365 days a year. In this month, Westminster was the most attended to borough, followed by Brent and then Southwark. In January, it was Tower Hamlets we most frequently visited – if you’d like to further compare the months, you can read January's mission report here.

We can get there in time to make a difference thanks to our fleet of helicopters and rapid response cars, which deliver our expert medics to a patient’s side within minutes of injury, at any time of the day or night. But we’re a charity, with 95 per cent of our funding reliant on people like you.

Can you help support us today, so we can be there for the patient of tomorrow?
