Infographic showing 149 patients were treated in January 2026

In the first month of 2026, using our fleet of helicopters and rapid response cars, our expert team of doctors and paramedics treated 149 patients.

These patients were so critically injured they didn’t have time to get to hospital and required the complex medical care that only our crew can provide on scene. To treat them at the roadside, throughout the month our team performed 27 rapid sequence intubations, 23 arterial lines, 19 blood transfusions and more potentially life-saving interventions.

We can get to anywhere within the M25 in 11 minutes, providing hope to someone on their worst day. In January, Tower Hamlets was the most attended to borough, followed by Islington and then Ealing. During 2025, Westminster was the most frequently visited borough – you can read the full annual mission report here.

After the patient has been stabilised, we usually accompany them to the nearest major trauma centre in a road ambulance. In this month, 48 patients were taken to The Royal London Hospital (44 per cent), 31 patients were taken to St Mary’s (28.4 per cent), 18 patients to King’s College (16.5 per cent) and nine to St George’s (8.3 per cent). We did not fly anyone to hospital, as this isn’t our main role on scene.

Transport-related injuries resulted in 30 patients (20 per cent), falls 26 patients (17 per cent), medical-related injuries 14 (nine per cent) and blunt impact nine (six per cent). There were also 18 patients who had other or unknown injuries (12 per cent) which includes burns and industrial incidents.

Traumatic injury is the biggest killer of people under 40 in the UK – but when a life is on the line, our medics can provide hope for the patient and their loved ones.

We are here for London, today, tomorrow and always. But we are a charity and can’t do it without your support. Can you donate today to help us be there tomorrow?
