The monthly mission report: June 2026

In June 2026, our expert team of doctors and paramedics treated 217 patients across London, making this month the busiest one yet of 2026.

We serve every borough in London, getting to scene in time to make a difference thanks to our fleet of helicopters and rapid response cars. During June, it was the borough of Newham that we visited the most, followed by Hillingdon, Lambeth and Southwark. Bringing hospital-level care to the scene, our team perform complex procedures at the roadside. During this month, we administered 44 rapid sequence intubations, 44 arterial lines, 28 blood transfusions, three thoracotomies and more potentially life-saving procedures. We are the only people who can deliver these on scene in London.

Once the patient has been stabilised, we usually transport them to the nearest major trauma centre in an LAS road ambulance. In this month, 60 patients were taken to The Royal London Hospital (38.5 per cent), 43 patients were taken to St Mary’s Hospital (27.6 per cent), 30 patients to King’s College (19.2 per cent) and 15 to St George’s (9.6 per cent). We also flew four patients to hospital during this month, which is incredibly rare as this isn’t our primary role on scene.

Penetrating impact and transport-related injuries were the most common mechanisms of injury in June, each resulting in 67 patients (31 per cent). Falls resulted in 34 patients (16 per cent), medical-related injuries 19 patients (nine per cent), blunt impact 15 patients (seven per cent) and unknown injuries four patients (two per cent). There were also 11 patients who had other injuries (five per cent), which includes burns and industrial incidents.
