1 Dec 2023
As the festive period quickly approaches, London’s Air Ambulance Charity has a multitude of ways to celebrate the season while supporting your local air ambulance.
From Christmas events and bucket collections to meaningful gifts that help others this year, we’ve got you covered.
Only 38% of Londoners know London’s Air Ambulance is a charity and with 96 per cent of our £15 million running cost reliant on public support, it is vital we let people know we need their help to save lives. If you can help us do this this Christmas, read more below.
Choose our charity Christmas cards
We have six beautiful designs of Christmas cards available to purchase online, all including our iconic red helicopter. Buying your annual greetings cards from us will help fund our life-saving work: on average we attend to five critically injured per day. Help us to be there for Londoners over this Christmas by sending our festive cards to your loved ones.
Give a charity-themed gift
Pop into our shop in The Royal London Hospital for an array of gift options. With model helicopters, branded apparel, stationery and more, we have many a stocking filler waiting for you. There are also handmade reindeers available to order, made by one of our supporters – they’ll make the perfect Christmas decoration for friends and family, or maybe even order one for yourself! The shop is open Monday – Friday, 09:00-17:00.
For the first time ever, our popular model helicopters are also available to buy online. Have a look today.
Come and see Popchoir’s Christmas carols
On 20 December, Popchoir will once again perform under the iconic Christmas tree in Trafalgar Square to raise funds for London’s Air Ambulance Charity.
A programme of festive tunes will be delivered by over 100 choir members – come along and experience the sense of community and unequivocal Christmas spirit for yourself. It’s one of our favourite events of the year – there’s mulled wine available and a Christmas market to explore too, alongside our volunteer elves collecting vital funds.
Become a London Legend
This winter, for the first time ever, we are offering our supporters with the opportunity to put their name – or a name of someone special – on one of our new helicopters.
For a minimum donation of £100, you could order a dedication for a person (or group of individuals) of your choosing: the most special Christmas gift! Their name will remain on one of our new helicopters for the next three years: accompanying our medics on every life-saving mission they go on.
Play our Christmas raffle
Our Christmas raffle is open for entries until 15 December – each ticket is only £1 and you could be in with a chance to win £3,000.
Whether you’re buying a ticket for a friend or hoping luck is in your own favour, you’ll be supporting London’s Air Ambulance to be there for the 10 million who visit, live and work in London. We’re there for the city 24/7, 365 days a week, but we can’t do it without your support.
Visit our volunteers on the street
Throughout December, we’ll be on the streets in various locations across London. Keep your eyes peeled for our bucket collectors and if you see us please come and say hello. Bucket collecting is about spreading awareness of the charity just as much as collecting coins, so we’d love to chat to you. Below is a list of confirmed dates and locations, but more will be added so keep an eye out!
• 1-2 December: Pavilions Shopping Centre – Uxbridge
• 12 December: Cannon Street Underground station
• 14 December: Canary Wharf
• 15 December: Woolwich Feery
• 15 December: Morrisons – Hatch End
Tell a friend we are a charity
One of the best gifts you could give us is to let others know that London’s Air Ambulance Charity relies on donations to keep saving lives. Only 38% of Londoners know London’s Air Ambulance is a charity and with 96 per cent of our £15 million running cost reliant on public support, it is vital we let people know we need their help.
As 2023 comes to an end, we want to thank all our supporters, we couldn’t save lives in London without you.
Have some happy holly-days, a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
