In September 2024 we spoke to the 50,000th young person through our schools and youth outreach activity. On 19 September we reached this milestone at an assembly talk for pupils at Lloyd Williamson School in Kensington & Chelsea.
We have had a dedicated resource for outreach since October 2017 and since then, we have carried out over 500 visits to schools and youth groups across London to inform and educate the young people of the capital about the work of their local air ambulance charity.
Visits have ranged from talking about ‘people who help us’ with Reception classes, up to career-focused sessions with sixth form students considering their future options.
Through this activity we hope to inspire future colleagues in our operational and charity teams.
Feedback from these visits is hugely positive:
“The children and staff really did enjoy having you in to speak to us! I'm sure your kind words and interesting facts have inspired many children in London.”
St Mary & St Michael Catholic Primary School, Tower Hamlets
“Thank you so much for your time today. The students enjoyed their time with you. It is hugely appreciated, and it makes such a difference for our young people.”
Samuel Rhodes School, Islington
“Thank you all for such a wonderful assembly. My class have been talking about it on and off all day.”
St Christopher’s The Hall, Bromley
“Thank you so much for offering to give your time and energy to work with our students. It makes such a difference to them and will have an impact on their futures.”

With huge thanks to all the schools and youth groups that have welcomed us in to help us reach this fantastic milestone.
