Captain Dave Rolfe in his flight suit on our helipad

In memoriam: 22 February 1974 - 10 January 2026

Dave was a valued and much-loved colleague whose service to London’s Air Ambulance Charity spanned 13 years, from when he joined us as a Captain in 2013 to becoming our Chief Pilot. In that time Dave immersed himself in many aspects of our charity beyond aviation and in so doing made a huge and meaningful difference – to his colleagues and friends, and most of all to the people of London who we serve. Dave embodied our values through his kindness, compassion and leadership and he will be greatly missed by all of us across the organisation and many others who met him during his time with London’s Air Ambulance Charity.

We held a service to celebrate the life of Captain Dave Rolfe, our much loved and valued colleague, on Thursday 7 May 2026, at St Botolph’s Without Bishopsgate. You can watch the service here.

Our thoughts remain with all of Dave’s family and friends. May he rest in peace.
