advent of change

We are delighted to announce that the Advent of Change advent calendar has selected London’s Air Ambulance Charity as one of its beneficiaries.

The Advent of Change campaign launched last year and is a first-of-its-kind advent calendar where, instead of receiving something each day, you give something to charity.

We will be part of the Children’s Advent Calendar, new for 2019, alongside 23 other incredible charities. The calendar will be available for purchase in John Lewis and Waitrose stores across the country, as well as online at adventofchange.com

Each day of this alternative advent calendar represents a 50p donation and describes how the gift will be used. Families opening their advent calendars this year can learn more about how our life-saving charity delivers an advanced trauma team to critically injured people day in and day out across London.

Louise Robertshaw, Director of Director of Fundraising and Marketing said:

“Everyone loves opening the doors of an advent calendar and now this exciting idea allows us to give something back during the festive season.

“London’s Air Ambulance Charity are so proud to be part of the Advent of Change enterprise and look forward to families talking about our life-saving charity as part of the Christmas countdown.”

The calendar is designed for everyone to enjoy and understand – each door features a coloured shape to help little ones find the right one, plus child-friendly language is used throughout, showing younger family members that they have the power to make a difference. There is also a mini-game to find hidden reindeer over the month.

Last year the celebrity-endorsed social enterprise Advent of Change launched the first-of-its-kind Advent Calendar and raised £100,000 for its 24 chosen charities.

This year there are even more products available and 72 charities represented. The Founder, 27-year-old Kristina Salceanu, hopes to more than double the amount raised. She said:

“Advent of Change began with one simple idea: to give the gift of giving at Christmas. And that small idea has captured the imagination of so many people already, and we really do believe that this simple concept has the power to change the world. We’re a non-profit with a mission: to help make the world a more fair, equal and sustainable place. We aim to create the world’s kindest products, and are delighted to announce more products that will support more charities for 2019. We are extremely proud to be representing London’s Air Ambulance Charity with our Children’s Advent Calendar.”

Advent of Change is also endorsed by a host of celebrities, including Sir Richard Branson, Joanna Lumley OBE, Greg James, and Lawrence Dallaglio OBE.
