UPDATE: Our 'Your London, Your Helicopter' campaign in 2015 successfully raised the funds required to purchase our charity's second helicopter, G-LNDN. Click here to read more about the success of the second helicopter campaign, and the arrival of the helicopter in January 2016.

National Express has taken its support for London’s Air Ambulance to new heights after unveiling a special coach to help us drive forward our mission to buy a second emergency medical helicopter.

The coach company has unveiled a specially-liveried coach helping to raise awareness of our ‘Your London, Your Helicopter’ campaign. The move comes as parent company National Express Group marks a major milestone in supporting the charity, which has supported us for four years and has donated £100,000 to the service.

Our Chief Pilot Neil Jeffers was on-hand with a doctor and paramedic from our medical team, National Express Head of Safety Craig Barker and driver Duane Porteous to unveil the coach. It will be seen by millions of people as it travels on routes across London, including those going to Stansted Airport.

Neil Jeffers said: “National Express’s distinctive white coaches are famous on roads across London and it’s absolutely brilliant to have one specially dedicated to our second helicopter campaign. As a charity, we rely on corporate support and donations and it is wonderful to have such an iconic company on board to assist our cause. Let’s hope its eye-catching design will encourage more people to donate.”

National Express Head of Safety Craig Barker added: “Community value is at the heart of our business and we’re committed to playing an active role in the areas we serve. We’re proud to support London’s Air Ambulance and hope our coach — which will be seen by millions across the capital — will be a real boost to the cause.”
