We will fill the historic medieval church with carols sung by Babington House School Choir and Singology. The service will be led by Fr Mark Young, and renowned BBC London presenter Asad Ahmad will lead the readings at the service, alongside an ex patient and the charity’s Lead Paramedic, Sharon Mortimer.

Asad said: “It is a real honour for me to take part in the Christmas Carol Service for London’s Air Ambulance. This fantastic team are always prepared to go above and beyond the call of duty to save lives in London every day. It is a humble pleasure to do a reading, and to play a small role for a charity that does so much for others.”

This Christmas Carol Service, kindly sponsored by haysmacintyre, a firm of chartered accountants and tax advisers, takes place on Monday 14th December from 6pm onwards. Tickets cost £25 for adults and £12.50 for under 16s. Mulled wine and mince pies are included. Visit londonsairambulance.co.uk/events/christmas-carol-service to buy tickets online or call the Events Team on 0207 220 5492.

Graham Hodgkin, Chief Executive Officer of London’s Air Ambulance, said: “This event promises to be a heart-warming occasion that will get you well and truly in the Christmas spirit. The service rounds off a landmark year for the charity, having purchased our much needed second helicopter for the capital.

“Proceeds go towards delivering our service 24/7 so that we can continue to provide the best possible care for patients across London, when they urgently need it. Please therefore join us in celebrating 2015 while also helping us to save more lives in London.”

One of the most historic settings in London, the Grade I listed St. Andrew Holborn Church dates back over a thousand years. It survived the 1666 Great Fire of London and in 1817, the 12 year old Benjamin Disraeli and future Prime Minister was received into the church. It was delicately restored after severe damage endured during the London Blitz.

Singology was established in 2000 to provide singing opportunities to people of all ages and walks of life. It launched its choirs to get more people involved in community singing in order to increase confidence and social cohesion. The Babington House School Choir is based in Chislehurst, Kent, and provides singing opportunities for all of its students, aged from 3-18.
