Politicians from across London have today backed London’s Air Ambulance and the work we undertake, encouraging people to get involved with our events and fundraising during National Air Ambulance Week.

We really appreciate all the messages of support.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan

“London’s Air Ambulance does an incredible job of providing life-saving support to those in trouble across the capital every day. National Air Ambulance Week is an opportunity to celebrate the hundreds of crews across the country, who work tirelessly to provide this service. There’s lots of fun activities happening across the capital and I urge Londoners to get involved, donate and support the doctors, paramedics, pilots and staff at the coalface of emergency care.”

Boris Johnson MP, Uxbridge and South Ruislip

"I'm immensely proud of the fact that the fantastic helicopters that make the work of the London Air Ambulance possible are based in my constituency. London’s Air Ambulance cutting edge life saving techniques are truly world leading, but that work relies heavily on public donation. That's why National Air Ambulance week is so important. It’s an opportunity to champion the skills of our pilots, medics and staff across the service. I'd urge Londoners to support their work this week and in the weeks and months to come."

Jim Fitzpatrick MP, Poplar and Limehouse

“I am proud to support London’s Air Ambulance.  They provide a unique service to London by bringing the hospital to the patient.  In the first 6 months of the year alone 39 people in Tower Hamlets have already been treated by London’s Air Ambulance. Please help them continue to help the most critically injured people in London by getting involved with National Air Ambulance Week activities and fundraising for this charity.”

Kate Hoey MP, Vauxhall

“London’s Air ambulance does a fantastic job, one that people do not think about until they or someone in their family or know desperately need it and then are so thankful that it is there.  Any funds that can be raised for this crucial service will, I am sure, be put to literally life-saving use.”

James Berry MP, Kingston and Surbiton

“I have recently visited London’s Air Ambulance and seen for myself the amazing work they do.  The charity provides an essential service for London and all my constituents in Kingston and Surbiton.  I hope lots of people will get involved and donate over National Air Ambulance Week.”

Ruth Cadbury MP, Brentford and Isleworth

“I support London’s Air Ambulance for the care it provides to people across London at the most critical times.  If any resident in Brentford and Isleworth can spare time during National Air Ambulance Week I urge them to get involved and help the charity continue to provide an advanced trauma team for London.”

Stephen Hammond MP, Wimbledon

London’s Air Ambulance is one of London’s most valuable services.  National Air Ambulance Week is an excellent time to raise awareness of the fact it is a charity, and needs donations to carry on delivering its service.  I hope residents of Wimbledon will get involved and support their life saving work”

David Evennett MP, Bexleyheath and Crayford

“I am a big supporter of London's Air Ambulance and the tremendous work they do. “This is an invaluable service which saves lives and makes a real difference.”

Helen Hayes MP, Dulwich and West Norwood

“I am grateful for the work that the Air Ambulance does in saving lives across London, and I am pleased that King’s College Hospital in my constituency will soon benefit from a new helipad which will reduce transfer times and help them to be even more effective.”

Tulip Siddiq MP, Hampstead and Kilburn

“London's Air Ambulance provides invaluable support to people who are seriously injured and in need of life-saving medical treatment before they reach hospital. Each year, the Air Ambulance service gives several of my constituents in Hampstead and Kilburn the best possible chance of survival and recovery, and for that, our community owe them a huge debt of gratitude. This organisation is completely funded from donations, and as such I would urge everyone to support this invaluable service for the people of London.”

Dame Angela Watkinson MP, Hornchurch and Upminster

“London’s Air Ambulance does a fantastic join in saving lives across London. It is supported entirely by donation and I would therefore urge local residents to give what support they can through donations or support in other ways”

John McDonnell MP, Hayes and Harlington

"London's Air Ambulance plays a vital life saving role and an essential service to London. It has my 100% backing and I encourage Londoners to give their support to this marvellous service."

Mark Field MP, Cities of London and Westminster

We all like to imagine that if we ever found ourselves seriously injured — from a car accident, perhaps, or following violent assault — we would be able to get treatment as soon as possible. After all, in the most life-threatening situations, every second can count when it comes to surviving and defining the quality of recovery. For nearly three decades, London's Air Ambulance has been at the forefront of efforts to cut that period of time between emergency and proper treatment, altering the course of people’s lives for the better and turning tragic situations into stories of hope. Londoners are forever grateful for the professionalism, compassion and dedication of the men and women who operate this service, and in National Air Ambulance Week, appreciate the opportunity to say thank you.

Wes Streeting MP, Ilford North

“London’s air ambulance is a vital lifeline to those in need. The air ambulance has unfortunately been to Redbridge a number of times this year already, most recently following the shocking stabbing of a school pupil in Barkingside just this month.”

“This National Air Ambulance Week, I’d encourage everyone to dig deep and give what they can to support vital service, provided by a charity, that needs our help to continue to save lives in our area.”

Virendra Sharma MP, Ealing Southall

“London’s Air Ambulance is an invaluable resource for millions of people living and working London. With a second helicopter now flying coverage is significantly improved, and I am proud to have been part of the campaign to secure that funding. I hope as many people as possible across Ealing will get involved with their exciting projects this week.”

Emily Thornberry MP, Islington South and Finsbury

“Day-in, day-out for nearly thirty years now the extraordinary team at London’s Air Ambulance service has been saving lives in the capital. However, as a charity, they wouldn’t have been able to reach the 35,000 patients they’ve helped to date without donations from the public. So I would encourage everyone — both in Islington and right across London — to dig deep, support National Air Ambulance week and celebrate the invaluable contribution these men and women make to our fantastic city.”

Gareth Thomas MP, Harrow East

“London’s Air Ambulance saves lives across London every day and it work is vital to the health and safety of our brilliant city. With National Air Ambulance Week soon approaching, I want to ask all Harrow residents to get involved and support their local air ambulance and the excellent emergency care they provide.”
