Our service has performed the world’s first roadside balloon surgery to control internal bleeding. Use of pre-hospital Resuscitative Endovascular Balloon Occlusion of the Aorta (REBOA) to control haemorrhage in trauma patients is a ground breaking move by London’s Air Ambulance.
