Charity Times has recognised London’s Air Ambulance Chief Executive, Graham Hodgkin, as the winner of this year’s 2014 Rising CEO Star award.

A former Managing Director at Deutsche Bank, Graham Hodgkin was appointed in November 2012 and has lead the charity through its recent stages of growth and development.

On receiving the award, Graham said: “The Charity Times Awards are a celebration of best practice in the UK charity and not-for-profit sector. Coming from a banking background, a little under two years ago, it’s very affirming to receive an award of this nature and to be recognised as making a positive impact.

“London’s Air Ambulance has an international reputation for being a leader in clinical excellence and for pioneering advanced pre-hospital procedures. My focus within the charity has been to grow and diversify our income streams and to create an organisation that is equally successful and high achieving. I believe charities absolutely have to be financially sustainable and to be underpinned by a viable business model”.

Charity Times is the leading business and management magazine for UK non-profit professionals. Its coveted annual awards recognise the highest standards of leadership and professionalism within the sector.

London’s Air Ambulance would also like to congratulate the five other shortlisted hopefuls, namely:

  • Ava Easton, CEO, The Encephalitis Society
  • Nicky Goulder, CEO, Create
  • David Houston, CEO, Trinity Hospice and Palliative Care
  • Charlotte Keenan, CEO, Tony Blair Faith Foundation
  • John Rendel, Founder and CEO, Promoting Equality in African Schools
