The Freemasons Grand Charity has donated £4,000 to London’s Air Ambulance. The donation was made at the annual Middlesex Grand Family Fete held at The Royal Masonic School for Girls, Rickmansworth on Sunday 15th July.

The Pro Provincial Grand Master of Middlesex, Right Worshipful Brother Roger Croome QPM, said: “It is a great honour to be able to support the nation’s air ambulances and in particular London’s Air Ambulance. It is essential, in a large city such as London, to ensure people receive excellent care as quickly as possible following an incident. This is what London’s Air Ambulance does, the crew often risking their own lives, but saving the lives of many others.”

The Grand Charity supports all of the United Kingdom’s vital air ambulances, having donated £1 million in total since 2007. This is the second donation of £4,000 the Grand Charity has made to London’s Air Ambulance.

Dr Julian Thompson, Executive Director of London’s Air Ambulance, who accepted the cheque on behalf of the Charity, said:  “London’s Air Ambulance relies heavily upon support and donations from the public to ensure the continued provision of this life-saving service.  We are delighted to be working in partnership with such a long established, highly respected organisation and are extremely grateful for their support to us and other air ambulances nationwide.”

The Family fete is an annual event, which raised over £14,000 for various local charities last year; and hopefully more this year. Families enjoyed a range of activities including inflatable jousting, bungee and chainsaw wood carving. There were also 70 stalls to visit and live entertainment to enjoy.
