I am a consultant in Emergency Medicine and Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine working in Glasgow. I undertook the UK national training programme in PHEM in the West Midlands, working for The Air Ambulance Charity, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and the West Midlands Ambulance Service MERIT car based in Birmingham. I am also a doctor with Great North Air Ambulance. Despite being born and bred a Londoner (I remember watching London’s Air Ambulance land in my school playground back when curtain hairstyles were in vogue…), this secondment is my first opportunity to work as a medic in my home city. It’s an immense privilege to help care for the sickest trauma patients in London, and humbling to train and work alongside a team so pioneering and dedicated to advancing pre-hospital medicine.
