• On a sunny day in April 2023, 57-year-old Mike took off in his two-seater plane on an outing from an airfield in Upminster. After flying his passenger over Hanningfield Reservoir, they landed to refuel and prepare for another flight over Brands Hatch. But this second trip didn’t go as smoothly.

  • A social dancing company based in Hillingdon – PJ Music & Dance – has recently raised £2,000 for London’s Air Ambulance Charity’s Up Against Time appeal with an exclusive dancing fundraiser.

  • We’re thrilled to announce that the London Freemasons have officially reached £2 million in their fundraising efforts, following their pledge to raise £3 million for our Up Against Time appeal in March 2023.

  • Throughout 2023, the Physician Response Unit (PRU) treated 3,872 patients in North East London: bringing the emergency department to the patient. The PRU is a pioneering Community Emergency Medicine service which aims to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred emergency care, often in the patient’s own home.

  • In February 2024, London’s Air Ambulance’s advanced trauma team – who are here for the 10 million who visit, live and work in London – attended to 160 patients.  Our crew brought procedures usually only found in the emergency department to the roadside, for individuals so critically injured they did not have time to get to hospital.

  • On 30 September 2022, on her way home from a late night at work, Sarah slipped and fell between the platform gap and the door to an underground train at High Barnet. With no one having witnessed the fall, the train departed and another one arrived. Sarah was left bleeding on the tracks, severely injured.

  • In 2023, London’s Air Ambulance’s advanced trauma team – which operates 24/7, 365 days a year – attended to 2,007 patients. This is a record number of patients, making the year 2023 the busiest ever year since the service began in 1989.

  • This month, Dr. Anne Weaver celebrates her 20th anniversary working for London’s Air Ambulance, a career that has seen her establish herself as one of the UK's foremost female pre-hospital care doctors.
