This month we have welcomed two lottery winners to our helipad in recognition of their support — Lynda Stevens, with her husband Ron, and Frank Colet, with his wife Marion.

Both scooped the top prize of £1,000 in our weekly lottery, which raises vital funds each year for the charity. They are one of the 39,000 hopefuls across London who donate to us to be in with a chance of winning a cash prize.

Draws are made weekly, and each entry costs £1 per week. Players can win £10, £50 or £1,000. There have been over 2,000 winners since our lottery started in 2007. Top prize winners are also given the opportunity to take in the London skyline from our helipad on the roof of The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.

Mrs Stevens and her husband Ron.

Mrs Stevens said: “I was shocked but delighted when I found out that I had won the London’s Air Ambulance charity lottery. “I found the visit to the charity’s helipad so enlightening — it wasn’t until then that I understood the full picture of what it does every day to help save lives. It’s all about getting the hospital to the patient, to receive treatments at the roadside that are often only found in an emergency department, as quickly as possible."

She added: “Ron and I are going on holiday to Germany this month, so the jackpot win comes at a perfect time!”

Mr Colet and his wife Marion.

Mark Davies, Director of Development at London’s Air Ambulance said: “Our lottery members generate vital funds that help us provide patients with the best possible care when they urgently need it. Every second counts in an emergency, as does every donation. We are hugely grateful to our lottery members for their support.”

By taking part in our lottery, you too could be a winner one day.
