This year, Bounds Green Bowls and Tennis Club were finally able to hold their annual President’s Day fundraising event, after the easing of pandemic restrictions.

This year’s President, Stephen Griffiths, chose to support London’s Air Ambulance Charity following a family member’s experience with one of our air ambulance colleagues, and seeing our medical teams at work in the local area.

On Sunday 25 July, the North London club hosted over 80 visitors to a family fun day which saw guests enjoy a variety of activities including a number of bowls based challenges, a tombola, BBQ and an auction which raised £300 on its own - with an overnight stay at the luxurious Grove Hotel up for grabs.

Reflecting on the day, Stephen Griffiths said, “London’s Air Ambulance is a very worthy cause that provides a vital life-saving service, and we were delighted to support them. I would like to thank everyone who supported us to make the day the success it was, and for raising an amazing £2,104.”

The family fun day was one of the first community fundraising events our supporters have been able to host since the pandemic restrictions began in March 2020.

Simon Pitts, Community Fundraising Manager at London's Air Ambulance Charity, said, “We are extremely grateful to Stephen, Margaret and the whole Bounds Green Bowls and Tennis Club for organising the event and raising such a fantastic total for London’s Air Ambulance. It has been a difficult time for everyone over the last 18 months, so seeing these wonderful community events taking place again is absolutely brilliant.”
