Group of runners outside the branch

The East Sheen branch of family-run ‘Up & Running’ has chosen to support London’s Air Ambulance Charity throughout 2026 and kicked off their fundraising efforts with an event last month.

The store collaborated with On running shoes and URUNN – a coaching running app created by Sir Mo Farah and Adam Clarke – to offer runners in the area an event at which they had the chance to win shoes and app packages in return for donations to a good cause.

“We chose London’s Air Ambulance Charity as we’ve seen you land in nearby parks a few times and often see you in the sky,” said Ricky, East Sheen Store Manager. “We know how busy you are and what a great job you do, so it was an easy cause to choose to support.”

The event saw 55 runners come together, donating via a QR code and cash on the night to be in with a chance to win one of the prizes. The group then went on a four mile run through Richmond Park, returning back to the store for drinks, snacks and a social.

People having a social in the Up & Running branch“It was really fun getting everyone together and also to support a good cause. We raised over £170 that evening, but this is just the beginning,” said Ricky.

The store plans to further fundraise for London’s Air Ambulance Charity with at least five more events throughout the year, with various prizes and runs to support our charity.

We’re so grateful to Up & Running East Sheen and all the runners who joined that evening. We also love to see unique fundraising ideas – our charity is reliant on Londoners, businesses and communities, without these fundraising efforts, we can’t continue to bring hope to every emergency.

With 95% of our funding reliant on public support, we need more people like Ricky to help us continue to serve London, 365 days a year, 24/7. Can you or your workplace support us? Browse our fundraising ideas and help us be there for the patient of tomorrow.
