Two of our wonderful supporters have set off on the challenge of a lifetime to raise money for our charity. Sam and Martyn are hiking the Appalachian Trail in America — an approximately 2,200 mile long route known as the longest hiking only trail in the world.

Sam and Martyn set off on the 8th April to the United States to begin the hike in the southern state of Georgia. They will then be walking through 14 states, up towards the East Coast of America to reach their final destination in Maine.

On Wednesday 26th April, our colleagues from the London Ambulance Service and Metropolitan Police SC019 Unit faced off in a charity rugby match in aid of the victims of the recent Westminster incident and London’s Air Ambulance. After seeing our advanced trauma team’s response to the incident, both organisations decided that 50% of the donations received would go to our charity.

Life and pension firm Phoenix Group has extended its corporate charity partnership with our charity and Midlands Air Ambulance for a further three years, taking the collaboration through to March 2020.

Today we welcome our new CEO Jonathan Jenkins to the team. In his role, Jonathan will provide strategic leadership and direction for our charity, continuing to ensure it is well administered and builds on growth in both operational capability and revenue.

Following the terrorist incident in Westminster, the London Ambulance Service and Metropolitan Police are coming together for a rugby match to show solidarity and raise money for victims and their families, as well as London’s Air Ambulance.

The London Ambulance rugby team will take on the Met Police SC019 team at Blackheath Rugby Club on 26th April at 3pm. After seeing the work of our advanced trauma team on the day of the incident, both organisations decided that a third of the money raised at the event will go to our charity.

We are thrilled to announce that our new three year partnership with Saracens F.C. officially kicked-off at Derby Day on Saturday 8th April. 

Thanks to an invitation from Saracens and Allianz, we were able to spread our message to more than 71,000 people gathered at Wembley stadium for the rugby match between Saracens and Harlequins. A whole new audience now knows that we are a charity, which relies on public donations.
