Each year, it costs £15 million to provide a 365 day a year, 24/7 service. To replace our fleet will cost an additional £15 million, which we need to raise by September 2024.
Our current fleet has served us well, but are reaching the end of their lifespans. Spare parts are hard to find and we have more and more days where our aircraft cannot fly.
We have therefore identified two Airbus H135 helicopters for the replacement of our fleet.
Without the arrival of these state of the art new aircraft, the provision of a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service team in London could soon become impossible.
Time is running out to replace our two helicopters. If we don’t, we can’t reach London’s most seriously injured patients in time to save them.
