In 2022, Aquarius Golf Club held a fundraising evening to raise money for London’s Air Ambulance Charity.
The event included indoor golf games and a raffle, and resulted in a fantastic £700 donation for London’s only air ambulance service.
Fiona Stewart, Ladies’ Vice Captain at Aquarius Golf Club, said: “Raising money for charity is very much at the heart of the club and everyone gets involved.
“During my first ever round at Aquarius in 2020, London’s Air Ambulance used one of the fairways to land on. Unfortunately, someone in the local community needed your expert help, but it really resonated with me and brought the charity to my attention.
“A lot of our members are aware of the work London’s Air Ambulance Charity does and everyone agreed it was more than appropriate to pick this charity as our Vice Captain’s charity.”
The evening event – organised by Fiona and Richard Mercer, the Men’s Vice Captain – saw over 60 people attend and buy tickets for the indoor golf games in teams of two. We’re so thankful to everyone involved in the innovative fundraising!
“I hope we can raise more money for the charity in the future,” said Fiona. “When I am Ladies’ Captain, it will be my chosen charity again.”
Aquarius Golf Club is situated on the roof of Beechcroft Reservoir, which when completed in 1909 was Europe's largest underground reservoir. It’s still operational today and holds 55 million gallons of water.
