By choosing London’s Air Ambulance Charity to be the recipient of their in-celebration fundraising on their special day, Will and Leigh raised just over £5,000 for the charity.

After meeting six years ago in London and a proposal in the pub where they had their first date, Will and Leigh got marred on 29 April 2023.

The wedding was a three-day event, which included a charity raffle. “It was a great way to keep guests entertained while contributing towards a great cause,” said Will and Leigh. “Everyone’s spirits were high with fun prizes and competitive ticket purchasing – we’re really grateful to all our family and friends who supported the fundraising.”

When Will first started working in London, he was hit by a bus wing while cycling. Luckily the car behind the bus was one of London’s Air Ambulance’s rapid response vehicles and our crew were able to assist. Thankfully Will didn’t have any serious injuries.

“He is incredibly accident prone – and a cyclist – so the charity is especially close to our hearts,” said Leigh.

“Will raised money for the charity in 2017 with a cycling event. Then recently when we were planning the wedding, we saw the charity’s Up Against Time appeal and our charity raffle idea was born!

“Not all Londoners know that the air ambulance is a charity that relies on public funding, so with our 200 people guestlist we thought it was a perfect way to spread awareness.”

Will and Leigh’s incredible in-celebration fundraising, resulting in a donation of over £5,000, will fund more than one whole mission – attending a critically injured individual in London. We’re so thankful to the happy couple and all their friends and family.
