This year marks the 20th anniversary of London’s Air Ambulance’s Physician Response Unit (PRU).

On 1 December 2021, an additional medical team was launched by London’s Air Ambulance, meaning that for the first time, the service will operate with two duty teams on call for London.

Heather Carroll
Heather is responsible for the strategic development and management of the volunteer programme, as well as managing community fundraising. She previously worked at the British Heart Foundation. She has also worked with student volunteers at both Kingston University and London School of Economics Students’ Union.
Vic Brooker
Vic joined the London Ambulance Service (LAS) in 2001 progressing from Qualified Ambulance Technician to Paramedic in 2005. He has undertaken a variety of roles throughout his time with the LAS, including Clinical Support Advisor and HART Paramedic, all with a focus of delivering care within different situations and environments. His first secondment started in February 2021 and he now returns as an Experienced HEMS Paramedic.

Matt used to spend his winters in the mountains and summers on the beach – teaching sailing, windsurfing and skiing. All that changed on 27 November 2010 when he fell nearly 20ft in Camden.
