One of our charity’s former patients is undertaking an epic fitness challenge to raise money for our service. Captain Javed Johl, an instructor at Sandhurst Royal Military Academy and former combat medic, will be taking on 24 military personal fitness assessments (PFAs) in 24 hours to demonstrate how far he has come in his recovery.

We would like to express the warmest of thanks to ERS, who on the 30th January hosted a pub quiz to raise vital funds for our charity.

The quiz, which took place at Revolution America Square, was attended by staff from across the ERS team and featured rounds on London landmarks and showbiz. As well as the quiz, the evening also featured a raffle, giving attendees the chance to win over £1,250 worth of prizes. The evening was a huge success, raising over £2,500 for our charity.

The sun was shining on City Hall when London Beach Rugby returned to the capital for its fifth year. Overlooked by Tower Bridge, rugby players from across the city joined together to compete and raise money for London’s Air Ambulance at Potters Fields Park.

London’s Air Ambulance has just landed in Cafe Nero stores across the capital’s airports. Starting earlier this month, you can now find our charity’s collection pots and pin badges in all 4 terminals at Heathrow Airport, Stanstead Airport Coach Station and Enterprise House, London City Airport and Gatwick Airport North.

Caffe Nero chose to support our charity after a member of staff was involved in a motorcycle accident last year. London’s Air Ambulance treated Cagri in his hour of need and he is now back working in Caffe Nero’s IT Department, making a steady recovery.

Two of our wonderful supporters have set off on the challenge of a lifetime to raise money for our charity. Sam and Martyn are hiking the Appalachian Trail in America — an approximately 2,200 mile long route known as the longest hiking only trail in the world.

Sam and Martyn set off on the 8th April to the United States to begin the hike in the southern state of Georgia. They will then be walking through 14 states, up towards the East Coast of America to reach their final destination in Maine.

Students from Northcote Lodge School have almost tripled their £10,000 fundraising target this school year. The independent preparatory school for boys aged 8-13 in Wandsworth, South London chose us to be their Charity of the Year last September and have since raised staggering £26,000.

Cycle enthusiast, Paul Heath, will be riding across the United States’ ‘Death Valley’ later this month, to raise funds for us and Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. 

Paul, a 46 year old Solihull resident, will be covering a total distance of 382km in five days. Located in Eastern California, the valley is the hottest and driest area of North America, and renowned for being home to one of the toughest cycle routes in the world.

Trinity Church of England School in Bexley raised almost £5,000 for London’s Air Ambulance after we treated a pupil who was hit by a bus. Following 12-year-old Caitlin's accident, the children and their families have raised more than enough to send the advanced trauma team to the side of another critically injured person by helicopter.

The annual Golf Challenge at the prestigious Foxhills Club & Resort in Surrey raised over £5,000 this September. 

"It was a great day when all participants enjoyed the excellent weather, the manicured Bernard Hunt Golf Course and the first-rate facilities provide at Foxhills, " said the event organiser Brian Donnachie. 

"The sponsors of the day were Santander together with Power Horse Energy Drink who have both supported the event in the past."

As well as keeping the kids amused with baloons and stickers, Wilko Dagenham team raised £95 via collection buckets and tins alone on their launch day. The event that  celebrated the local store's partnership with London's Air Ambulace raised further £50 from sales of T-shirts in the store.
