Shona Burlace

Shona joined the team in May 2023, as the Senior Direct Marketing Officer. Her main responsibilities are to deliver and evolve the acquisition and retention strategy, inspiring the people of London to become long-term supporters of the Charity. 

She formed her career with Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex, in a digital marketing role, and has several years of experience within our charity’s sector.

On New Year’s Day 2021, Clare set off from her home in Surrey on a walk. It was a grey, misty morning and her husband Steve, not far behind, was heading out on a run.

Anna Bennett

Anna joins the charity as Director of Finance, IT and Facilities.

With more than 20 years' experience in financial leadership, Anna is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) and holds the ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting. She has worked for several national charities, including as Finance Director for Hospice UK and as Director of Finance and Operations for BBC Children in Need.

Dr Jennifer Ross

Jen is an Emergency Medicine registrar who trained in the West of Scotland.  She completed her MSc Trauma Sciences at Queen Mary University of London before moving to work as a Clinical Research Fellow at the Royal London Hospital, undertaking a PhD with the Centre for Trauma Sciences (QMUL). She is a Medical Officer in the Army Reserve and is currently the Officer Commanding A Detachment, 256 (City of London) Field Hospital.

Kirsty Clift

Kirsty joined London’s Air Ambulance Charity's Events team in March 2023 and supports challenge events fundraisers to get the most of out of their experience, by raising important funds while having a fantastic time.

She has a degree in Media and Communications Studies and has been working and volunteering in the third sector for eight years.

Outside of work she enjoys attending shows and playing with her pet hamster, Cordelia.

Sam Tompkins

Captain Sam Tompkins started flying in 2003 and has been flying air ambulances across the country since 2013. Before he started flying, Sam worked as an Emergency Ambulance Technician in the Southwest. Outside of work Sam is passionate about music, playing guitar in a local band and hosting a community radio show.

Daniel Ballard

Dan is an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner in Critical Care with the London Ambulance Service. He undertook his initial secondment to London’s Air Ambulance in 2012, worked as part of the Emeritus team and now returns as an Experienced HEMS Paramedic. Dan has also worked as a Clinical Team Leader and Training Officer during his career with the London Ambulance Service, which he joined in 2001.
