In July 2022, while walking on a pavement in Mayfair, father-of-two Zoltan was struck by an out-of-control van. He was initially crushed and pinned against a fence railing before it gave way and he fell down a 10ft ledge into a basement. With concrete blocks smashed around him, Zoltan was trapped in the basement area where he had fallen.

In September 2023, London’s Air Ambulance’s advanced trauma team – which operates 24/7, 365 days a year – attended to 168 patients.

Philanthropists Julia and Hans Rausing, renowned for their widespread commitment to supporting charitable causes, have contributed £1 million to London’s Air Ambulance Charity’s Up Against Time appeal. This generous donation, combined with £6.5 million already secured, brings us halfway to the £15 million required to replace our helicopter fleet by 2024.

Earlier this year, three teams from Tower Hamlets schools took on our 2023 helipad abseil and raised an amazing £8,000. London’s Air Ambulance Charity was delighted to welcome staff from schools in our local community to our helipad, 17 floors up on the roof of The Royal London Hospital to take on the descent.

On 24 September, 10 employees from Big Bus Tours completed 2023’s Tough Mudder challenge; facing mud, obstacles, heights and more to raise vital funds for London’s Air Ambulance Charity. Initially an idea for a team experience, the Big Bus Tours group decided to also use the challenge to fundraise.
