The Freemasons’ Grand Charity recently awarded a £4,000 donation to London’s Air Ambulance as part of a £192,000 grant distributed to air ambulance charities across the whole UK. The cheque was presented to Director of Development, Mark Davies, and Lead Clinician, Dr Anne Weaver, at the helipad by Russell Race, the Metropolitan Grand Master and leader of London's Metropolitan Grand Lodge.

On 1st June, a team of fourteeen members of International SOS attempted the Three Peaks Challenge, climbing non-stop to the summit of the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales, to raise money for London’s Air Ambulance. They successfully completed the entire challenge in just twenty seven hours.

London’s Air Ambulance has been chosen by the world’s largest asset management company, BlackRock as its charity of the year in England. With over 2,350 employees in London and Peterborough, BlackRock hopes fundraising efforts will make a significant contribution towards a second helicopter and extended flying hours for the capital’s air ambulance, making this one of London’s Air Ambulance’s largest ever charity partnerships.

London’s Air Ambulance Patron Maurice Thompson, will lead a contingent of Citi colleagues, colleagues and family in a 17 storey abseil down The Royal London Hospital, home to the charity’s helipad. The abseil is part of National Air Ambulance Week (23rd — 27th September) and will help raise funds for London’s Air Ambulance which relies on generous charitable donations from the public to deliver an advanced trauma team to critically injured people in London.

London’s Air Ambulance is delighted to announce that TV Doctor, Dr Hilary Jones has become a Patron. Having worked as an emergency doctor, as well as a GP and a high profile healthcare adviser, Dr Hilary Jones highly values the work of our charity. Dr Hilary's engagement in emergency medicine and pre-hospital care dates back to 1981, when he worked as an emergency doctor for the oil industry at Sullom Voe in Shetland for Offshore Medical Support.

During National Air Ambulance Week more than 60 supporters of London’s Air Ambulance could be seen abseiling down The Royal London Hospital, home to our charity’s helipad, on 26th and 27th September. Among the abseilers was 63-yr-old Sharon Kosak, grand-mother to ex patient Ethan who helped save his life after a half-tonne metal gate crushed his leg, and ex-patient Daniel Hudson who was involved in a severe cycling accident only two years ago.

Two years after being shot in the chest in a gang cross fire, eight year old Thusha reunites with the London’s Air Ambulance team who helped saved her life. ITV Tonight programme featured Thusha’s meeting with Dr Vidar Magnusson and advanced trauma paramedic Caroline Appleby, who kept her breathing with emergency surgery until she reached hospital. When they first saw her, she was suffocating and bleeding heavily. “All I was thinking was that I couldn’t let her die.
