Yvonne, 3rd year Law student at University of Westminster, reflects on a year of volunteering at London's Air Ambulance.

"I decided to volunteer for London's Air Ambulance as I wanted to make a difference and to do something worthwhile with my spare time. I felt that London's Air Ambulance was a great charity to support as they provide an important service, one that anyone in London could require.

To mark Student Volunteering Week, Student Paramedic Alex Grant, tells us about volunteering for London's Air Ambulance as a photographer and speaker.

"I decided to volunteer for London's Air Ambulance because I feel very passionately about pre-hospital trauma care. As a Student Paramedic at Anglia Ruskin University, my frontline placements are with the London Ambulance Service so this has inspired me to volunteer for London's Air Ambulance.

We were delighted to welcome Leslie Camfield from Essex and Pamela Hall from Greenwich to our helipad this week, after they both scooped the top prize of £1000 in our weekly lottery.

As a charity, we rely on fundraising to help us deliver our service, which costs £8.7 million per year.  The lottery provides us with a vital source of regular income, whilst also offering players the chance to win £1000 each week.

A year ago London’s Air Ambulance helped save Sonal Shah’s life. One year on and Sonal is raising vital funds to ensure this help continues to reach as many Londoners as possible.

When Sonal was hit by a car just five minutes from home she received treatment from the London Ambulance Service, London’s Air Ambulance and the Royal London Hospital for a head wound, fractures in her lower back, a dislocated hip and a broken ankle. Her injuries left her temporarily wheelchair bound and missing her independence.

This month marks an incredible 28 years since London's Air Ambulance was founded. To celebrate the anniversary we have released a new digital timeline telling our story. It shows how if it hadn't been for a pioneering group of people, and the generosity of the London public, our charity may not have existed at all.

This time last year, Dave Cooke was in the midst of training for the Virgin Money London Marathon to raise money for London's Air Ambulance. But this was no ordinary marathon training plan. Not only was Dave preparing to complete the London Marathon, he was also attempting to gain a new Guinness World Record for the fastest marathon wearing chainmail.

Our 2016 Christmas Carol Concert was the perfect start to the festive season. Held at the beautiful St Andrew Holborn Church in the heart of the City, the audience gathered to sing traditional carols, hear the nativity story and listen to the incredible Rock Choir.

Over 200 people gathered in the church, helping to raise just shy of £8000 for our charity.
